We are part of the nation's largest and most successful franchises that buy and sell gently used clothing and accessories for teens and 20somethings. Each Plato’s Closet location is individually owned and operated by business savvy owners. We opened our first location in Houston in 2005 and now have six area locations.

At selected Plato's Closet stores in Houston, you can use our Level II 240 V chargers to juice up your vehicle while you shop!  It's FREE.  Just ask the store staff to help you sign in, and show you where the charger is located.   Chargers available at Willowbrook, Greenway Plaza, Baybrook (behind Once Upon a Child) and Sugar Land.

At our stores, you will find great deals every day. Most items are more than 70% off regular retail prices for the brand names you love. We make selling your items convenient and fun. We pay cash on the spot. Accepted pieces are purchased immediately, no waiting for your item to sell.

Clothing must be in good condition and in current style. Items must be freshly laundered and folded neatly in boxes or shopping bags. 

The price we pay is based on condition, brand, style and demand. Not all items are accepted due to inventory levels, past experience, and condition.

Trade: Remix & Match Your Style 

If you are selling to us, we are happy to credit your sale against your same-day purchase. You will save the 8.25% Texas state sales taxon the amount of the applicable credit! We call that a TRADE and you get to pocket an extra savings from the government. Pretty cool, huh?

Customer Appreciation Card

To show our appreciation, we offer each customer -- free of charge -- a customer appreciation card. Earn one stamp when you buy or sell $10 in apparel. Get 20% off your next purchase when you fill a card!

Card redemption is limited to a maximum value of $20 off $100. It does not apply to returns, prior purchase, sales or clearance items. Card does not combine with other offers or discounts, and it is also not applicable to designer purses or denim more than $45. No stamps will be given on redemption day.

Return Policy

Clothing returns are accepted within 7 days with receipt and price tags attached. Shoes, bags, accessories and clearance are final sale and not returnable. Payment is refunded according to the original payment type. ID required.

Promotional Event Policy

At Plato's Closet, we have promotional events throughout the year. Like us on Facebook or sign up for our email list to stay connected! During clearance events and other sales, promotions cannot be combined with any other discount, offer or benefit. The discounts are not applicable to prior purchases, returns, gift cards or merchandise priced at $45+ per item.

Secondhand Reseller Ordinance Guidelines

Plato’s Closet complies with the City of Houston’s Secondhand Resellers Ordinance.

• The seller’s ID is reviewed with each buy, as required under the ordinance, to maintain a record of customers who sell to the store.
• Minors (under the age of 18) can only sell clothing items (including shoes, hats, belts) and also CDs. Minors cannot sell jewelry, backpacks, purses, watches, wallets, perfumes, games or videos.
• Only clothing that reflects the person selling (i.e. size/gender) is accepted. Precious metal items like silver, gold and platinum, cannot be purchased.
• All items sold are “final sale” and may be resold immediately. Sold items are not consignment, nor pawn loan collateral, and will not be returned.

Dressing Room Policy

We have dressing rooms in all of our stores. We allow one customer per dressing room, with a maximum of 6 items at a time. No accessories in the dressing room, including shoes, purses, jewelry and sunglasses. Purses, bags & strollers brought into dressing room may be subject to search.
